About The Dog's EarButts Giraud, owner and founder of The Dog's Ear, is a man with many stories to tell. In addition to teaching high school, Butts played professional football for the B.C. Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He wrestled professionally in Canada, the US and Great Britain for 10 years. Butts is a four-time World Bellyflop and Cannonball diving champion and appeared as a guest on such TV shows as To Tell The Truth, What's My Line, Games People Play and NBC Sports World. Thirty years ago, while helping coach spring football at the University of Hawaii, The Dog's Ear T-Shirt and Embroidery Company was born. Butts opened his first retail outlet in Gastown, Vancouver, in 1974. Today, the Company operates four franchise stores in British Columbia. The Dog's Ear uses the latest tools and technology to bring you the best in customized embroidery, silkscreening, lettering and photo transfers. In 1999, The Dog's Ear celebrated its 25th Anniversary. The Dog's Ear was recognized at the ICSC convention at Whistler Mountain for its success and longevity as it is one of the few retail companies still in existence since the early 70s, with sales exceeding $2.5 million. |
